Netball Queensland umpires, coaches and athletes now have access to Netball Australia’s new eLearning Portal which will eventually host all of Netball Australia’s online education and exams.


For the Rules of Netball Theory Examination go to 


Rules of Netball Theory Examination is part of the National Officiating Accreditation Scheme and tests the basic rules of the game. This Test will take approximately 1 hour
 to complete.  
A certificate will be generated for all candidates who achieve a pass (70% or above).  There is no limit to the number of times the exam can be attempted and there is no fee charged to take the exam.  Examination marks are valid for 6 years.

It is highly recommended that prior to commencing this exam you read a copy of the Official Rule Book and Exam Guide.

Level 1 Umpire Education Course (on-line) is now called ‘Foundation Umpire Course’

This course has been designed to assist you in achieving the necessary skills and knowledge to be an effective umpire and enjoy your officiating role.

The Foundation Umpires Course is a pre-requisite for obtaining a National C Badge and participating in the Level Two Umpires Course.
The course looks at:

  2. Getting started
  3. Umpiring techniques
  4. Rules in action
  5. Where to now?

Along with the Rules of NetballTheory Exam, the Foundation Umpire Course will be delivered through Netball Australia’s eLearning Portal. This can be accessed at or the MyNetball portal
